Dear
Friends and Supporters of Us TOO,
I'd like to thank those of you who took the time to share your comments with the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force on their Draft Recommendation Statement regarding prostate cancer. I have been informed that due to a technical issue with the USPSTF website, some of your comments may not have been received. Here are a few items they shared:
Comments submitted were affected as follows:
- For screening for prostate cancer: comments submitted on October 11, 2011, before the late afternoon.
Individuals who submitted comments electronically during this time received messages confirming that their comments were submitted even though the USPSTF was not receiving them.
While this technical issue was immediately resolved, and many public comments have been received, the Task Force wants to ensure that anyone who submitted comments that may have been lost has the opportunity to resend them. To this end, the public comment period will be reopened from November 30 to December 13.
The USPSTF regrets this inconvenience, but believes it is most important to allow everyone's voice to be heard. The Task Force will carefully review all comments from the public it receives and will use them to craft its final recommendation statements.
If you submitted your comments on October 11th, I hope that you are able to resubmit them. If you did not submit a comment before the earlier deadline, please use this extra time to do so.
Thank you for your participation and support!
Sincerely,
|
